Meet the Artists

Mint Artists are typically Detroit natives between the ages of 14-21, who are either in high school or attend university part time. They may work in any visual medium—from photography to jewelry and fine paintings. Program participants are selected based on their artistic abilities, work ethic, passion for their craft, and community involvement.

Some of our Learn & Earn Artists include:

Eleanor Aro, painter of Detroit scenes, who attends Western International

Trinity Brown, jewelry artist who attends University Preparatory High School & serves on Mint's board of directors

Jessica Fligger, ceramicist and painter, who attends Cass Technical High School

Prince Matthews, acrylic painter, who attends Cass Technical High School

Julie Journey Shamily, digital artist, who attends an online high school and serves as Mint's marketing intern

De'Shaia Ventour, duct tape artist, who attends Cass Technical High School
