Our fall and winter wish list

Changing seasons and we want to offer colorful crafts. Help us by donating art supplies – or gift cards. (Photo MorgueFile)

As the leaves turn colors, our thoughts turn to fall and winter arts and crafts, and art activities for the community.

We are starting to plan for a very creative holiday season, at Eastern Market and elsewhere. And we ask your help to grant some of our wishes for art supplies and more.

Here’s the list:

  • Easels and table easels
  • A coat rack, colder weather calls for coats
  • Used greeting cards, especially holiday cards – Christmas, Kwanzaa, Chanukah –  for holiday arts and crafts
  • Reams of white or bright yellow or green copy paper
  • Sequins and glitter, for arts and crafts
  • Felt and fabric scraps, solid color or bright colors, for arts and crafts
  • Colored pencils, for arts and crafts (pencil sharpeners a bonus!)
  • Mosaic materials – high quality hot-fired smaller tiles in blues, purple, white, yellow, green, orange. (We have plenty of reds)
  • Paper towels and baby wipes (helpful for clean up)
  • Gift cards to Meijer, Kroger, Costco, BJs (We need to purchase artist snacks, treats and miscellany supplies)
  • Digital camera (prefer one with video capabilities)
  • Artist sketch pads
  • Acrylic paint, any and all colors

We feel wonderful that nearly two-thirds of what we asked for in our spring wish list was granted. And we are hopeful that our record of generosity and free creative arts and crafts continues, with your support.
