Join us in Palmer Park and Clark Park for an afternoon of creative work and activities for our community. These two youth-led Community Service Days include a park clean up, arts and crafts and creating “blessing bags” for homeless folks.
We also will assist at Detroit Repatched with gardening and art projects.
If you wish to donate supplies for the “blessing bags,” here’s what we need before July 24: small fabric totes or ziplock gallon bags, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap or body wash, hand sanitizer, deodorant, lotion, sanitary pads, socks, fruit snacks, bottled water, sharpies.
Please drop these off at the Palmer Park Community House Monday or Tuesday, July 21 or 22 from noon to 6 pm or at our booth at the Detroit Festival of Books on Sunday, July 20. Â Or make a donation and note that it’s for the “blessings bags.”
If you’d like to come as a volunteer that day, please send us a quick note, then show up at noon Thursday, July 24 for a brief orientation.
