Indie holiday shopping that also supports Mint

Mint Artists Guild has more art and art-full items at more independent shops and galleries than ever before. This makes it easier to buy Mint cards or a coloring book or even a print and pick up books or more.

Most of our items are created in the Mint Creative Summer Jobs program, and your purchases help us to hire more creative youth every year.

And with the holidays ahead, we want to help you shop indie and buy local as you support Mint Artists Guild and our growing array of programs and initiatives. So here’s a list of where to go for our art cards and bookmarks and so much more:

Book shops: Visit 27th Letter Books on Michigan Avenue just outside Corktown or Next Chapter Books on Detroit’s East Side and buy a coloring book or a greeting card from Mint. Or head to The Source Booksellers in Midtown, which has our Beautiful Detroit coloring book.

Coffee shops: Give the gift of coffee, nuts or dried fruits at Germack Cafe in Eastern Market and send along a Mint card too. Or head to The Congregation in Boston-Edison and buy gift cards for drinks or a light meal and send it in a Mint card.

Detroit Artists Market: Shop Art for the Holidays at DAM right on Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit from Nov. 10 through Dec. 23. Buy Mint’s 6-pack of Detroit cards, our holiday cards, our wonderful coloring book. Or pick up a hand painted Mint bookmark created by talented artists in our Creative Summer Jobs program.

Eastern Market: Mint will bring free arts and crafts and our beautiful Mint prints and more to Eastern Market Holiday Markets two Sundays in December – Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. Check our events calendar for details. We look forward to seeing you and sharing some of the joys of the holiday season with you.

PARC: It’s our first time in Plymouth and are we proud. Mint has three beautiful art prints for sale at the Gift of Art in the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Center art gallery. Enter through Door 24, activities entrance and head to the left. Our Spirit of Detroit – Future of Detroit Mint print (shown above) is one of the pieces and it’s certain to sell out before 2024 has warmed up, so buy it this month.

WSG Gallery. WSG in Ann Arbor is an artist-owned gallery filled with magical works. And they proudly carry Mint art cards.

Please note that not all the Mint art cards are available at most locations. And if you live outside of Southeastern Michigan, please buy from the Mint Shop online – and please allow plenty of time for packing and shipping to you.

Mint is interested in adding a gallery or indie shop in Ferndale and Birmingham, MI, and one in Wyandotte and Traverse City too. Please introduce us! Perhaps we could show up there in time for New Year’s or Valentine’s Day!
